“Police Officer Stabbed to Death by Unknown Assailants in Kiryandongo District”

Police in the Albertine region have arrested three individuals to assist in the investigation of three separate murder cases that have resulted in the deaths of three people. The arrests were announced by Julius Allan Hakiza, the regional police spokesperson, during a press briefing at the police headquarters in Hoima City on Monday.

In Kiryandongo District, authorities are probing the murder of Corporal Gabriel Konadia, 42, from Mbale CPS, who was allegedly stabbed in the neck and killed in Kiryandongo Town Council on Sunday night. Hakiza confirmed that the deceased’s wife, Doreen Ayebale, and another individual have been arrested to assist in the investigation.

In Masindi, police are investigating the murder of 24-year-old Benon Talemwa, a cattle keeper from Balyejukira village, Bikonzi Sub-county. Talemwa was attacked and repeatedly stabbed by unknown assailants on Sunday night while traveling with two friends from Kyakaitera Trading Centre. The attackers also injured his companions.

In Hoima District, police have taken Ibrahim Feni, a supervisor at Bwendero Sugar Factory, into custody to aid in the investigation of the murder of an unidentified woman. The victim’s decomposing body was found on a farm along Kigorobya-Masindi Road in Kyabasagazi Sub-county. Hakiza stated that the body was retrieved by police on Sunday and taken to the Hoima City mortuary for a post-mortem and identification.
