Kagadi tops Albertine Region Murder Cases Recorded in September

ALBERTINE

The Police in the Albertine have raised a red flag over the increasing murder cases in the region.

Statistics at the Albertine regional police headquarters indicate that, in September, 38 murder cases were registered in the region. 

Kagadi topped with 10 cases, followed by Kikuube which registered 6 cases while Kakumiro recorded 5 murder cases.

The statistics further revealed that Kiryandongo had 4 cases, Masindi recorded 4 cases, Kibaale had 3 cases, Hoima recorded 3 cases, Hoima City registered 2 cases and Buliisa1 case. 

Most of the murders were a result of domestic violence, mob justice and land wrangles among others.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson on Sunday told the media that, currently they have embarked on a community policing campaign in the entire region to ensure that they educate the public on how to reduce the cases and strictly follow the law.
