A 62-year-old man has been rescued from a shallow grave after he was reportedly buried alive.The police were investigating the murder of a 74-year-old woman who was found dead by a relative in her home.
A suspect, an 18-year-old man, was arrested for the killing, and as they were canvassing his home, they heard cries for help.According to the Daily Mail, the officers started digging while following the muffled cries underground.
They found the entrance to a makeshift grave where the young man is believed to have locked up the sexagenarian. Police footage released on Wednesday shows the frail man being pulled out of the shallow grave. He was conscious and had a neck wound.

Following his rescue, the man was moved to a hospital for treatment. After regaining total consciousness, he gave an account of how he got buried. he man was reportedly drinking with the 18-year-old man when a fight broke out between them.
He added that the young man pulled out a knife that he used to attack him before burying him in his makeshift bunker. The teenager was remanded in custody as police and prosecutors continued to investigate him for murder and attempted murder.
Later that day an 18-year-old man, in a state of drunkenness, was arrested at his home in the same village of Ustia in northwest Moldova. During questioning, the youth reportedly gave confusing and inconsistent statements, and when officers searched his home, they heard cries for help coming from nearby.
As officers approached the noise they soon realised it was coming from nearby, and once they started digging they discovered the entrance to a makeshift basement. Police footage of the rescue shows the man being pulled from the ground. He was conscious and had a neck wound.
He later told police that he and the teenager had been drinking together when they started arguing, which led to the boy wounding him, locking him in the basement and covering the entrance with soil.
Officers believe the young man allegedly murdered the elderly woman on Sunday (May 12) night or in the early hours of Monday. He has been remanded into custody as police and prosecutors continue to investigate him for murder and attempted murder, and faces life in prison if found guilty.
