PE is one of the newly introduced subjects being examined by UNEB at the national level for the first time. According to school authorities, Kwagala, who had been born with a congenital heart condition and had been receiving regular medical care, suffered cardiac arrest while making final preparations for her exam.

Although official exams are set to begin after Friday’s briefing, UNEB has been conducting practical examinations over the past two weeks in various subjects, including languages such as Latin, German, French, Arabic, Chinese, and Ugandan Sign Language.

Practical assessments in Physical Education, Performing Arts, Nutrition & Food Technology, and Technology & Design are also currently being carried out ahead of October 14, the official start date of the national exams.
